About Appalachian Brewing Company

Appalachian Brewing Company is located in a historic downtown building. The impressive three-story brick and heavy timber structure, was built circa 1915. The lagering room portion of the brewery dates to 1890. Throughout the brewery, antique brick walls, massive wooden beams, hardwood floors and ceilings provide a warmth and inner glow rivaled only by the beer itself. We are proud to be the first brewery in the Pennsylvania State Capital since 1951. ABC serves fresh innovative cuisine to match our tremendous handcrafted ales and lagers!

Good Beer, Decent Food

Posted by widener on 7/29/2009

I generally go here for drinks and to play pool. Good selection, good tables. I haven't eaten a lot of the menu or interacted with a lot of the staff, so no comment there, but have had good experiences so far. Perhaps a trifle bit on the expensive side.

I go to ABC at least once a week. I have never had a bad meal. Love this place!!!

three strikes

ABC is in an easy location, has ample parking and the beer is different but good. We really just don't like the food. Rock hard bread, corned beef and cabbage so salty it's inedible and a lame attempt at making Irish Food. Molly's is far better.

great place

good food, atmosphere, attracts a nice crowd. service is sometimes poor but the great beer makes up for it.

Good food, good beer - good bet....

Stopped in here while in town for work - good food, lots of regulars around on a Tuesday. Sat a the bar had the baggers n' mash and a few pale ales - very tasty. A very safe bet - didn't make it upstairs to the Abbey.
