PISSED OFF

THIS WAS THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! IF YOU JUST WANT THE FACTS, THEN THE FACT IS THAT MY FAMILY & I WERE VISITING HARRISBURG FOR THE NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS PAGEANT. WE DECIDED TO LOOK FOR SOME PLACE ON 2ND ST TO DINE WHEN WE CAME ACROSS ZIA'S. WE WERE SOMEWHAT CONFUSED WHEN OUR TABLE WAS SET UP IN THE WINE CELLAR. OUR WAITER'S NAME WAS FREEMAN. AS WE PLACED OUR ORDER, WE RECEIVED OUR FOOD, AND NOTHING MORE. WE DIDN'T SEE FREEMAN (EXCEPT TO SEE HIM WALK BY US SEVERAL TIMES) AGAIN FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. WHEN HE FINALLY DID MAKE A STOP INTO THE WINE CELLAR (I BELEIVE IT WAS BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE CAME IN TO GET SOME WINE AND ASKED HOW WE WERE, AND SAW THAT WE WERE VISIBLY NOT HAPPY WITH OUR SERVICE) I INFORMED HIM THAT THE RISOTTO THAT WAS WITH MY DAUGHTER;S MEAL (SHE HAD THE PETIT FILET) WAS OVER COOKED AND CLUMPED TOGETHER, FREEMAN TOOK THE RISOTTO AND LEFT, MY HUSBAND & I ORDERED CAESAR SALADS IN WHICH THERE WAS LITTLE OR NO DRESSING ON THE SALAD, AGAIN WE WAITED APPROXIMATELY 20-30 MIMUTES FOR FREEMAN TO RETURN SO WE COULD REQUEST DRESSING. WHEN FREEMAN FINALLY DID RETURN, MY HUSBAND REQUESTED THE DRESSING AND I ASKED HIM WHAT BECAME OF THE RISOTTO. HE SAID TO ME THAT HE FIGURED THAT WE DIDN'T WANT IT ANYMORE AND I TOLD HIM HE SHOULD HAVE ASKED IF WE WANTED THE RISOTTO REPLACED AND NOT ASSUME THAT WE DID NOT WANT IT. HE BECAME VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND STARTED MOCKING ME WHILE I WAS SPEAKING TO HIM, AT THAT POINT I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER. WELL AGAIN, FREEMAN DID NOT RETURN TO OUR TABLE FOR ANOTHER TWENTY MINUTES ONLY TO PRESENT US WITH OUR BILL INDICATING HE TOOK 20% OFF THE BILL, I TOLD HIM I STILL WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER, HE QUICKLY TOLD ME HE WAS THE MANAGER (I THOUGHT THAT WAS A LIE TO GET US OUT OF THE PLACE). I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T WANT TO SPEAK TO HIM ANYMORE AND WE PAID OUR $89.04 BILL (NO TIP) AND LEFT. IF THIS IS HOW YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE TREATED THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESS TO ANYONE.

It Stunk!

All I gotta say is there is no pasta like NYC. going to this restaurant was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had. The Server got my order wrong; I ordered pene ala vodka, without the sausage ( who makes their pene vodka with sausage anyway?) I got the dish, what i thought was going to be prosciutto, turned out to be sweet sausage. I didn't eat the dish and shared my wifes plate whuch was not much better. She ordered Pene with marinara sauce, she played it safe, so we thought. The pasta was a little hard, the sauce was like an open can of heated crushed tomato. They tried to mask it by throwing oregano, basil and some herbs. The sauce was also way too sweet. At the end of the dinner the server tried to convince me i bit a piece of prosciutto. I told her to bring the plate back and I would show her the piece of sausage i chewed. They took it off the bill, but the damage was done. We ended eating a couple of slices at: Palumbo Pizza & Subs located at 104 N 2nd St. Right next door. next time I'm in PA, I will not go to red door, but will go to Palumbo for sure.
